House of Representatives adopted initiative: Attack on journalists to be treated as attack on an official person

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A thematic session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun in Sarajevo, where initiatives for the adoption of laws prepared by the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be considered.

The goal, as announced, is to relieve the economy and improve the business environment.

In mid-March, the Association initiated the adoption of laws to the Government and Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the aims of which are to relieve the economy and improve the business environment in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Among the initiatives are five laws on amendments and supplements to laws that were submitted to the Government and Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in mid-2018, and they relate to laws on health insurance, fiscal systems, road traffic, privatization of enterprises, professional rehabilitation, training and employment of persons with disabilities. It was proposed to consider these acts under an expedited procedure.

The Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has prepared another 20 draft laws, including new draft laws on financial operations, registration of business entities, bankruptcy, occupational safety, strikes, peaceful dispute resolution, employment mediation and social security of unemployed persons, income tax with analysis, contributions with analysis, accounting and auditing, federal administrative fees and the Tariff of federal administrative fees, and on the Economic-Social Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also prepared are amendments and supplements to the Law on Health Insurance, the Law on Professional Rehabilitation, Training and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, the Law on Business Entities, the Law on Fiscal Systems, the Law on Profit Tax, the Law on Health Care, the Law on Petroleum Derivatives, and the Law on Court Fees in Proceedings before the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the thematic session, the second regular session of the current mandate of the House of Representatives will follow.

At the beginning of the thematic session, the mandate of Ankica Kolar Jurčević (HDZ BiH) was verified, after her party colleague Feliks Vidović resigned due to moving to a new position.

The House of Representatives rejected the initiative of Senaid Begić that an attack on journalists be treated as an attack on an official person through amendments to the Criminal Code. Then representative Damir Mašić requested an individual vote to see who was against it. After the individual vote, the initiative received support. During the individual vote, SDA representatives were mostly abstaining and against, except for two representatives. Representatives of HDZ BiH were also mostly abstaining and against. Representatives of SDP, DF, Our Party, Independent Bloc, PDA, A-SDA, and People and Justice were in favor.
