House of Representatives of BiH PS discusses budget for 2021, Russian aggression, Ukraine, BHRT crisis

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The 13th emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held today starting at 12 PM. A large number of items are on the agenda, including all items related to the second round of voting for which the first round was held in this term of the House of Representatives, but not the second round.

Among them is the Bill on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2021, proposed by the Presidency of BiH (law in the second reading), as well as numerous amendments. We remind you that the budget for institutions for 2021 was never adopted. The last adopted budget was for 2020, according to which decisions on temporary financing are proposed.

Numerous agreements are also on the agenda, as well as the Proposal for a Declaration on obtaining candidate status for membership in the European Union, proposed by MP Nikola Lovrinović on 7/7/2021.

Representatives will also vote on the initiative of MP Saša Magazinović, which tasks the Council of Ministers of BiH to submit a legal solution within three months to the parliamentary procedure, introducing mandatory medical examinations for elected and appointed officials in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which includes special mental-psychological ability testing for holding public office, as well as testing for psychoactive substances, dated 10/19/2021.

Among the items is the Proposal for a Conclusion by MP Edita Đapo, which reads: "The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH sends a request to all countries and organizations, members of the Peace Implementation Council, to urgently suspend the Russian Federation from this body. Russia has committed aggression against Ukraine and as such cannot promote and implement peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina." dated 3/4/2022, as well as the Proposal for Conclusions by MP Jasmin Emrić, which read: 1. "The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH calls on the Presidency of BiH to urgently make the necessary decisions to provide humanitarian aid to the population and state of Ukraine. 2. The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH tasks the Council of Ministers of BiH to urgently secure financial resources, organize and deliver the necessary humanitarian, health, or other urgently needed aid to the population and state of Ukraine. 3. The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH calls on the governments of both entities, cantonal governments, municipalities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to, according to their capabilities, organize and provide humanitarian aid to the population and state of Ukraine." dated 3/4/2022;

Also on the agenda is the Proposal for a Conclusion by MP Borjana Krišto, which reads: "The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH supports the Resolution of the European Parliament of March 1, 2022, on Russian aggression against Ukraine (2022/2564(RSP)) and the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on Ukraine, and gives full support to the institutions of the European Union in their response activities to the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation." dated 3/4/2022.

The last item is the Information from the Management Board of the Public Broadcasting Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the consequences of the financial blockade of BHRT dated 3/24/2022, with proposed conclusions from the SDA Club.
