US House of Representatives Approves Promised Aid to Ukraine

(Patria) - A bipartisan majority in the US House of Representatives today supported a draft bill securing funds for the Indo-Pacific region, which is part of the $95 billion package that includes Ukraine and Israel.

An allocation of $8.12 billion is planned for the Indo-Pacific region. This is a plan designed, according to agencies, to deter Chinese aggression in the region, especially towards Taiwan.

Following this, voting continued in the lower house of Congress, controlled by Republicans, reports RSE.

The bill provides a total of $95 billion, of which $60.84 billion would be allocated for aid to Ukraine. This includes $23.2 billion for replenishing US arms stockpiles, Reuters reported.

Their quantity was reduced as they were used to supply Ukraine during the blockade of the aid package in the lower house of Congress, which is controlled by Republicans.

The House also voted to adopt a series of measures related to larger funding bills. This includes new rules that could allow the US to ban the use of TikTok unless its Chinese parent company sells the app.
