House of Representatives of FBiH: Session on taxes and contributions not to be held?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The sixth regular session of the House of Representatives of FBiH, which was supposed to be held today, will be cancelled. 

The Patria Agency has unofficially learned this. 

As we learn, HDZ has a problem with Article 40 of the Bill on Income, which relates to the tax rate on gambling. The law stipulates that all winnings above 100 KM will be taxed, but that this tax will be raised from the current 10 percent to 13 percent.

SBB also, it is unofficially learned, was against the amendments related to unemployment contributions. In the proposed amendments, according to sources from the FBiH Government, unemployment contributions are currently 1.5 percent, while the proposal reduces this contribution by 0.5 percent. 

The following items were planned for the sixth regular session: Bill on Contributions, Bill on Income Tax, Bill on Accounting and Auditing in the Federation of BiH, Bill on the Register of Financial Reports.

In the continuation of the fifth regular session, the Employment Strategy in the Federation of BiH 2018-2021 did not receive the support of the House of Representatives of FBiH. 

The deputies' remarks on the Strategy were focused on the exclusion of the IT sector from the strategy and its obsolescence. 

"The strategy was adopted by Republika Srpska, and this is a prerequisite for adopting the strategy at the state level. The European Commission requested the adoption of the strategy, and the FBiH Government adopted this strategy at the end of last year. I am truly sorry that so much time has passed. The strategy should strengthen employment mediation and employment policy. Young people are singled out as a special strategy in the strategy," said the relevant minister Vesko Drljača. 

The deputies almost unanimously supported the acceptance of the loan under the Loan Agreement between the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and BiH for the "Energy Efficiency - Additional Financing" project. 

The report on the execution of the FBiH Budget was also supported, while the FBiH Energy Sector Restructuring Program was withdrawn from the agenda. 

The report on the work of the FBiH Government for 2018 also received support.
