House of Representatives of the FBiH: Police agencies should start doing their job, migrants should also be accommodated in the RS

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Parliament of the FBiH expects security agencies at all levels to establish an effective coordination system and harmonize activities for the control, stay and movement of migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the conclusion proposed by the Security Commission of this House, following a session in Bihać.

“All police agencies are required to, within their competencies, intensify activities to determine the identity of migrants found in their area of operation,” it adds.

One of the conclusions requested that containers from the Bira camp be made available to the competent institutions, and that the relevant legislative bodies urgently amend legislation to ensure more adequate and efficient handling of the migrant crisis management.

“The House of Representatives demands the urgent provision of additional conditional accommodation capacities, i.e., temporary reception centers in areas and on the territory of BiH that have not yet borne the burden of the migrant crisis, which primarily refers to the Republika Srpska,” states the adopted conclusion. 

The Chairman of the Commission, Damir Mašić, said that the Commission did not deal with the humanitarian aspect, as that is not its task. 

With the adoption of the conclusions, the session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH was concluded, and the date of the next session will be announced later.
