BiH Presidency forwards Putin's letter to BiH and entity prime ministers

After the BiH news agency Patria reported yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter to the leaders of European countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, threatening that the country would be forced to stop gas supplies because Ukraine is not paying its bills, the BiH Presidency reacted today.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina forwarded the letter to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the entity prime ministers for the purpose of undertaking necessary further activities and measures, in accordance with their competencies in this area.

Putin sent the letter to all countries to which Russian gas is supplied through Ukraine, namely, according to the newspaper, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Czech Republic, Poland, France, Germany, Croatia, BiH, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Austria, and Italy, reports NAP.

Putin's letter is considered an open threat and pressure on Europe due to the Ukrainian crisis, announcing a new gas crisis and energy war. Russia has already doubled the price for gas supplied to Ukraine in the last few days, and there has been a dispute about alleged debts for some time. Putin, as the president of the country that owns "Gazprom," the exporter of this energy source, directly addressed the leaders and threatened a complete suspension.

Earlier, the Patria agency reported on an Oxford study that confirmed that BiH and Serbia, which do not have an alternative gas source, would suffer the most in such a scenario.
