Argentine President Milei informed BRICS that his country will not join

(Patria) - Argentine President Javier Milei has officially informed BRICS member states that his country will not join the group, reported television channel TN, according to the TASS agency.

According to the source, the Argentine leader wrote in his letter that he does not consider the country's participation in BRICS appropriate at this time.

Online newspaper Infobae reported that Milei sent official notifications to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Milei took office on December 10. He reiterated his intention not to foster ties with Brazil, China, and Russia due to disagreements with their policies, but at the same time stated that he would not prohibit private companies from doing business with them.
Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs Diana Mondino said on November 30 that the country would not join BRICS.
