Presidents of Turkey and Egypt Jointly Threaten Israel

(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday that Ankara is determined to advance cooperation with Egypt in all fields, including industry, trade, defense, and health, agencies report.

Erdogan addressed a press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

He said that at the meeting with El-Sisi, the determination to advance cooperation with Egypt in all fields, including industry, trade, defense, health, environment, and energy, was confirmed.

"We are decisively moving towards the goal of increasing trade exchange between Turkey and Egypt to 15 billion dollars in the next five years," Erdogan said.

He also emphasized that the contributions of Turkey and Egypt are of key importance for regional peace and stability.

Touching upon the war in Gaza, Erdogan pointed out that Israel and its helpers are responsible for the death of every person in Gaza caused by the severe shortage of food, water, and medicine.

The Turkish president said that "those responsible for the deaths of 41,000 innocent people in Gaza should stand in courtrooms, not at parliamentary podiums".

"Israel's uncompromising and obstructive stance continues. By killing interlocutors in negotiations, Israel has shown what kind of mentality it possesses," Erdogan said.

He said that only by abandoning indecisive policies can Israel be prevented from drawing the region into further tensions.

Commenting on recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against Egypt, Erdogan said that official Ankara rejects the accusations against Cairo.

After the meeting with El-Sisi, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey and Egypt have a common stance on the issue of Palestine.

In the presence of the two presidents, a total of 17 cooperation agreements between the two countries were signed.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived today for his first official visit to the Republic of Turkey.

Sisi was welcomed at Esenboga Airport in Ankara by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

After the welcome at the airport, a ceremonial reception was held with the highest state honors in front of the presidential palace in Ankara.

El-Sisi assessed today's visit, prior to the meeting with Erdogan, as a reflection of the will for new friendship and cooperation.
