Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić wished a successful term to the Ambassador of Palestine to BiH Sylvija Kharoof

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić received the letter of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to BiH Sylvija Kharoof.

During the ceremony of presenting the letter of credence, it was stated that the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Palestine are traditionally friendly and that both sides show a desire and intention to strengthen mutual ties and further develop cooperation.

In the discussion about the current state of Palestinian-Israeli relations, special attention was paid to the extremely difficult humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić emphasized that the horrific war crime that occurred in Gaza in recent years has been followed with outrage in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that Bosnia and Herzegovina has raised its voice at the UN against the genocide of the Palestinian people.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Komšić officially informed Ambassador Kharoof that the BiH Presidency recently made a decision to send a unit of the Armed Forces of BiH as part of international efforts to provide humanitarian assistance.

Conveying greetings from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Ambassador Kharoof said that she is fully committed to working on strengthening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Palestine in various fields in the interest of their friendly peoples.

She particularly thanked for the engagement of members of the Armed Forces of BiH in peacekeeping activities in Palestine.
