CASE VOLAN: Defendant Puniša Purković pleaded guilty, sentenced to 26 months in prison and ordered to pay 44,000 BAM

(Patria) - Within the Cicović Danilo et al. case (Case Volan), in which a trial is underway for members of an organized criminal group for motor vehicle theft, defendant Purković Puniša zv. “Puki”, born in 1964 in Sarajevo, residing in Pale, in the presence of his lawyer, fully admitted guilt for the criminal offenses charged by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The defendant admitted his participation within the organized criminal group, in the alienation of motor vehicles, extortion of money for their return, and other illegal activities, together with other members of the group.

A sentence of 2 years and 2 months in prison, a fine in the amount of 32,000 BAM, as well as the confiscation of illegal property gains in the amount of 12,000 BAM, was proposed for the defendant. The proposed sentence is in accordance with the defendant's role and responsibility in the commission of criminal offenses. By pleading guilty by agreement, the defendant waives the right to a trial, as well as the right to appeal the verdict, which the court will pronounce based on the agreement.

The plea agreement has been forwarded to the BiH Court.
