Case 'Tower': Halilagić and Mahmutović sentenced to two years in prison each

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo amended the verdict of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo regarding the penalty decision and finally sentenced Sedin Halilagić and Elvedin Mahmutović to two years in prison each for the criminal offense of accepting gifts and other benefits.

They were also banned from performing their jobs for a period of 4 years. Money in the amount of 30,680.00 euros was confiscated from the convicted Sedin Halilagić. Sedin Halilagić and Elvedin Mahmutović were convicted because, from the end of May 2019 to July 10, 2019, as responsible persons of the company „Smart Invest“, which was engaged in the construction of the residential and commercial building „Sarajevo Tower“, they repeatedly demanded money in the amount of 200,000.00 KM from a subcontractor, in order to recognize the construction works performed, while threatening him with the activation of the bank guarantee provided for this job.

A part of the previously marked money, in the amount of about 60,000 marks, was handed over by the injured party to the convicted persons, who were apprehended during the handover.
