Doll Case: Bojan Cvijan Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison

Today, the Court of BiH, before the Department II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, delivered a first-instance verdict in the case of 'Bojan Cvijan and others' - operation codenamed 'Doll', N1 reports, as carried by Patria.

Bojan Cvijan was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the first instance. A total of 101 years and eight months in prison was imposed on 13 defendants.

In 2014, the BiH Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against 32 individuals, stating that it concerned one of the largest organized criminal groups in BiH over the past 20 years.

In the indictment, the prosecution suspected the accused of organized crime related to multiple murders and aggravated murders, armed bank robberies and cash transport of multi-million amounts, as well as robberies, burglaries, money laundering, and other serious criminal offenses.

In the case of 'Bojan Cvijan and others', besides the first defendant Cvijan, the accused are: Marko Krajišnik, Ljubiša Lalović, Muhamed Ramić, Dejan Vukosavljević, Elvis Zlatić, Elvira Kajević, Mehmed Kajević, Benjamin Halilović, Dragan Obućina, Anes Kurbegović, Mladen Mičić, Dragan Jevtović, Azem Kajević, Nermin Tahirović, Vladan Parađina, and Davor Elez.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office issued a brief reaction to today's verdict.

- After almost 3 years of trial, more than a hundred witnesses were called, and hundreds of material pieces of evidence were presented, we have obtained a conviction which we are satisfied with, but we will certainly seek a conviction on all counts of the indictment and stricter sentences for the perpetrators in the appeal process - stated the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
