Bosnalijek case: Raids and arrests related to multi-million corruption offenses

(Patria) - Acting on the order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of SIPA, in several cities in BiH, are depriving suspects of liberty and conducting searches of facilities and premises as part of an investigation into corruption-related criminal offenses amounting to millions. As specified by the Prosecutor's Office, this concerns the Bosnalijek case.

The activities are being carried out as part of an extensive investigation into criminal offenses of organized crime, money laundering, abuse of office, and financial crime, within which illegal property gain in the amount of millions has been recorded.

Within the framework of the case, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and partner police agencies conducted a long-term investigation, during which international cooperation was established with partner institutions from several countries.

After the deprivation of liberty and searches, the suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge, who will decide on further activities, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.

Searches are also being conducted at the company Bosnalijek as well as at six other locations.
