Detention proposed for suspect in 'White Widow' operation

(Patria) - The acting prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office has proposed to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo to order one-month detention for Ilana Begić Balen, suspected of drug trafficking, who was arrested in the operation codenamed 'White Widow'.

Detention was proposed due to the danger that she might re-offend by committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs if she remains at liberty.

We remind you that during the searches conducted in the Ilidža and Novi Sarajevo areas, five complete indoor laboratories for growing and producing the narcotic drug marijuana were found and seized, along with several hundred plants, more than 2,700 grams of dry herbaceous matter resembling the narcotic drug marijuana, digital scales, grinders, various equipment necessary for the operation of the laboratories, and numerous other items of interest to the investigation.
