(Patria) - The prosecutor of the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office submitted a proposal to the preliminary proceedings judge of the Tuzla Cantonal Court for a one-month detention order for Mehmed Selimović (33) from Gradačac due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder.
There is reasonable suspicion that on August 31 around 7 PM in the place of Požarike near Gradačac, near an elementary school, Selimović had a verbal conflict with an acquaintance he had been socializing with earlier.
After that, he saw H.H. (74) from Gradačac passing by the school, approached her, and struck her several times in the head with a metal rod.
When the woman fell, he hit her in the head several times with a concrete block, and she died from the injuries sustained.
The suspect was arrested immediately afterward, and investigators from the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior conducted a criminal investigation and handed Selimović over to the Prosecutor's Office along with a report on the committed criminal offense.
The prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and questioned the suspect.
Investigative actions and necessary expert examinations are ongoing.
