Pre-election handout over budget, RS borrows to give pensioners and youth 100 KM each

(Patria) - The decisions of the Government of Republika Srpska on the payment of one-time financial assistance to young people, veteran categories, and pensioners in the amount of 100 marks each have come into effect with their publication in the Official Gazette.

Interestingly, in the same issue of June 30, the Decision on the 49th bond issue was also published, through which the Government of Republika Srpska will borrow 40 million marks. This is exactly how much is needed to pay out this assistance, according to earlier estimates. It should not be forgotten that due to rising prices, budgets are significantly higher, up to 25 percent, but still, they cannot manage without borrowing, because before that, the authorities increased their own salaries.

Young people in Republika Srpska will be able to apply for their hundred marks from tomorrow until July 25.

Applications will be submitted via a link from the Government of RS, which is not yet active, and the only condition is to be between 16 and 29 years old and reside in Republika Srpska.

"Instructions on how to fill out and submit the application will be published on the portal," the Decision of the Government of Srpska states.

As for veteran categories and pensioners, existing records will be used, meaning they will not be required to apply.

Republika Srpska has so far issued 74 bond issues, through which it has borrowed 1.9 billion marks.

The money raised in this way has been used for various purposes, from settling old foreign currency savings and war damages to paying obligations to suppliers.
