Making concessions on the Srebrenica Resolution is a denial of the International Court's ruling

Making concessions on the Srebrenica Resolution, submitted to the UN Security Council by the United Kingdom, is nothing less than a denial of the International Court of Justice's ruling in The Hague, which clearly stated that genocide occurred in Srebrenica, warned the association „Friends of BH“.

The Serbian side objected to the Srebrenica Resolution submitted by the United Kingdom to the UN Security Council, calling it a resolution directed against the Serbian people.

The British resolution was also opposed by Russia, which proposed a completely different draft of the Srebrenica Resolution, which does not condemn the genocide in Srebrenica, but rather condemns all crimes committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.

Serbian media reported that Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić was presented today with a new, amended version of the British Srebrenica Resolution, which includes some elements of the Russian resolution.

In the first version of the British resolution, the crime committed against Bosniaks in Srebrenica was condemned and designated as genocide.

The Russian resolution condemns "the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, which were committed during the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia against persons of different ethnic origin and religion."

Analysts assessed that accepting the Russian resolution would mean equating the crime and the victim.

- We believe that this is not the first time that the international community, through its poor moves, resolves internal problems at the expense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, such cases include the Dayton Peace Agreement, the Washington Agreement, and all the reforms carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina from outside – stated the president of the association „Friends of BH“, Goran Kovačević.

The Srebrenica Resolution is not a matter of high politics but of the facts of whether the genocide in Srebrenica occurred or not. Given that there is legal evidence that the genocide in Srebrenica occurred, the resolution should have been in that direction, and not to carry out certain political manipulations, the association states.

The UN Security Council is expected to vote on the Srebrenica Resolution on July 7.
