Prague: Multiple killed and injured in shooting, attacker reportedly neutralized

(Patria) - Multiple people were killed and injured in a shooting in Prague today.

"Based on initial information, we can confirm there are dead and injured at the scene," police announced on Twitter.

Police in the capital of the Czech Republic urged residents to take shelter and avoid the area "due to an ongoing shooting incident" near Charles University in the city center.

Czech media report that the unfortunate event occurred at the Faculty of Arts in the very center of Prague.

Shortly before 4 PM, police announced that the attacker had been 'eliminated'.

"The entire building is currently being evacuated, and there are several dead and dozens injured at the scene," police said.

"We sent all available forces after the report of a shooting. Unfortunately, there is a large number of victims," said police spokesperson Jana Poštová, who did not want to speculate on the number of casualties. Unfortunately, the police confirmed that there were deaths, reports Jutarnji.hr.
