Famous Qatari Museums in the Colors of the Palestinian Flag

(Patria) - The State of Qatar expresses solidarity with the Palestinian people following the latest escalation of violence in the Middle East.

The National Museum of Qatar, the renowned Museum of Islamic Art, and the famous Al Riwaq gallery were lit up in the colors of the Palestinian flag last night in a sign of solidarity.

"O God, we entrust Palestine and its people to You," wrote Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums and the Doha Film Institute (DFI), and sister of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on X.com.



Meanwhile, the State of Qatar is undertaking strong activities to de-escalate and calm the situation in the Middle East. The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, had a phone conversation with the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, on Sunday. The two leaders discussed the developments in Palestine and ways to de-escalate and calm the situation in these areas.

During the conversation, Sheikh Al-Thani emphasized that protecting civilian lives and reducing escalation are the main priorities of the State of Qatar, which is investing its diplomatic efforts to achieve the stated goal.

The Qatari sovereign reiterated the State of Qatar's call for de-escalation and maximum restraint. Furthermore, he highlighted the unwavering stance of the State of Qatar on the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He stated that the State of Qatar condemns Israel's violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites, which undermine the prospects for a just resolution of this issue. The Palestinian President thanked the Emir of the State of Qatar for his continuous support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, as well as for Qatar's efforts and "unwavering stances regarding the just Palestinian issue".

Let us recall that the Emir of the State of Qatar also spoke about the Palestinian issue on September 19th of this year before the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, warning that it is "unacceptable for Palestinians to continue to be under the yoke of Israeli occupation".
