Fires in Neum and Konjic still active, aerial assistance needed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The fire on Mount Žaba in the Neum hinterland is still active and spreading towards the village of Cerovo, the Operational Centre of the Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton reported today. There is currently no threat to the population or buildings.

Firefighters are on the ground, and the engagement of helicopters from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is needed.

According to the Operational Centre of the Civil Protection of Konjic, fires in Borci and Glavatičevo are still active.

Due to wind and inaccessible terrain, the situation at both fire sites changes rapidly, but there is currently no danger to the population or buildings.

The engagement of helicopters from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also needed.
