Fire in Konjic rages, getting closer to houses

(Patria) - The fire in Konjic is not subsiding. The fire has spread, all firefighters are on the ground, and houses are threatened in the village of Ovčari. Konjic residents are defending their family homes from the fire with bare hands.

"The situation is catastrophic. All firefighters are on the ground. Houses are threatened near Ovčari, and the fire has spread to other villages. The fire has approached the houses, and firefighters are now defending the homes, and that is the only goal, to prevent it from reaching the houses. Six fire trucks are on the ground. People have not yet been evacuated, and firefighters are keeping it under control for now. The goal is to defend the village," says the duty officer from the Professional Fire Brigade of Konjic.

At the entrance to Konjic, the fire flared up again today.

Otherwise, the Council of Ministers of BiH, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security of BiH, made a Decision on requesting international assistance for protection and rescue in extinguishing fires.
