Fire at a fashion clothing factory in Gradačac, one person injured

(Patria) - The production facilities of the Fashion Clothing Industry (IMK) "Kula" Gradačac were engulfed in a large fire during the night.

The report of the fire arrived at 5:04 AM, when the entire fire department was engaged.

Firefighters from PVJ Gradačac and Srebrenik, as well as workers from the company and neighboring factories, are participating in extinguishing the fire, reports Radio Gradačac.

Unfortunately, extinguishing efforts are hampered by a lack of water within the factory premises. A water tanker from the company "Limocont" has arrived, and water is being drawn from Namještaj and Komunalac using hoses.

The fire in one part of the factory has been localized, but the flames are constantly spreading and causing new fires.

It has been confirmed by the Emergency Medical Service that one person sought medical attention and was sent to UKC Tuzla after treatment.

- A maintenance worker sustained burns on his forearms and face. He reported to the Emergency Medical Service at 6:50 AM and, after examination, was sent to the Plastic Surgery department at UKC Tuzla - Semir Turbić, director of the Gradačac Health Center, told Radio Gradačac.

Due to the large fire near the secondary schools in Gradačac, classes were suspended this morning for the first shift, to protect the health of students and staff.

"A large cloud of smoke and harmful fumes has spread into our school premises, making the regular conduct of classes impossible for the health of students and staff during the first shift," stated MSŠ "Hasan Kikić" Gradačac.

Judging by the photos and initial information, the scale of the fire is large, and significant material damage is evident.
