Fire in Brčko: Furniture factory on fire, eight people taken to hospital

(Patria) - A fire of enormous proportions broke out in the Brčko settlement of Bukvik this afternoon, engulfing a large part of the "Alizino" furniture factory.

Several fire units are on the scene, attempting to contain the blaze, but the fire has not yet been localized.

Thick black smoke is rising above the factory, reducing visibility in this part of the settlement.

Residents are advised to avoid movement near the Bukvik industrial zone to allow unimpeded access for emergency crews.

Radio Brčko reports that eight injured individuals from the "Alizino" furniture factory have so far been brought to the Brčko General Hospital with severe respiratory complications.

According to the spokesperson for PUH "Brčko Health Center" Salih Ibrahimović, all those brought in have been treated, connected to oxygen, and are out of mortal danger.
