Fire at BH Telecom: Telecommunication system shut down for five hours due to checks

On 05/25/2016 at 12:00 PM, a fire broke out in the battery system of the BH Telecom building in Dolac Malta. Fortunately, all employees were evacuated in a timely manner and there were no injuries. Two BH Telecom employees, who directly participated in extinguishing the fire, were sent for a preventive examination at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo due to smoke exposure, it was announced from BH Telecom, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

BH Telecom employees immediately began extinguishing the fire upon its outbreak, and thanks to their quick reaction, the fire was localized within 15 minutes, thus avoiding loss of life and greater material damage.

Due to the importance of the facility and potential consequences, BH Telecom undertook all preventive activities to comply with fire safety procedures. For safety reasons, part of the system had to be shut down until the necessary checks were completed to prevent greater damage. As a result of this unfortunate event, telecommunication traffic in the BH Telecom network was disrupted between 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM.

At 5:10 PM, telecommunication traffic was fully normalized, and all BH Telecom services could be used without interruption.
