SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sabahudin Ajvaz told N1 that he was left homeless after a fire broke out today in residential buildings in Vitomira Lukića street, in the Sarajevo settlement of Stup.
According to unconfirmed information, a short circuit caused the fire that engulfed several houses. Efforts are underway to bring it under control.
Ajvaz said he managed to save his children in time, but lost everything else.
"We are on the street now, no accommodation, nothing. If I hadn't saved the children in time... everything burned down. I couldn't even grab any money," he told N1.
"I am on the street with my family, I don't know what we will do," Ajvaz added.
Đula Osmanović appealed to the public for help for her family, emphasizing that it is winter and they are left without a roof over their heads.
"Please help us. Everything burned down. We have nowhere to live, this is not a joke, it is winter," she said.
When asked by an N1 reporter how many family members there were, Osmanović replied four: herself, her two 14-year-old daughters, and a baby. Her husband is not there.
"Please find us some accommodation," Đula Osmanović repeated.
A fire broke out in a residential area in the Sarajevo settlement of Stup in the afternoon. According to witnesses, all persons were evacuated.
