Fire near Čapljina threatens homes, helicopter assists in extinguishing

According to data from the Federal Civil Protection Administration, around ten fires are currently active in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton area, with the worst situation near Čapljina. A helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina arrived in Čapljina this evening to assist firefighters in battling numerous fires that have been burning in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton area over the past few days.

In the municipality of Čapljina, fires are active at the Trebižat-Dretelj-Zvirovići location, where residential buildings (around 500 houses) are threatened, then at Modrič-Hotanj, where residential buildings are also threatened, and at the Bivolje Brdo-Počitelj location, where houses are also at risk.

In the City of Mostar area, three fires are active that currently do not threaten residential or other buildings. The fire is burning on Gubavica, and the fire line is moving towards Stanojevići, in Kokorina, and in Drežnica.

In the municipality of Čitluk, two fires are active: in the village of Trtla above Gornja Blatnica, where around ten houses are threatened, and in Crnica, where residential buildings are not threatened.

In the municipality of Stolac, a fire is active on Bačnik, which does not threaten residential buildings; in the municipality of Neum, a fire is burning at the Prapratnica site (the fire does not threaten houses), while in the municipality of Ravno, a fire is active in Zagorac.
