Returnees Expect New Murders in RS, Authorities Need an Incident

Police in Vlasenica yesterday beat Mehmed Kuljančić and his older brother Harsudin. This is the third time Mehmed has been beaten in the past year, Patria reports.

Among returnees in the Republika Srpska, one can hear fears of new murders. The authorities in RS, they are sure, need an incident to divert attention from the difficult economic situation. They are trying to provoke one of the returnees into creating an incident that would be characterized as a terrorist attack.

Returnees believe that the intelligence services applied the same method in the case when Nerdin Ibrić killed a police officer in Zvornik. The details of the murder were never made public. The case has always been referred to in public as a terrorist attack.

The first time Mehmed was beaten by a group of about 30 Serbs, in July last year, next to two police cars. The officers did not react to the incident. Two months later, he was attacked again.

Mehmed said that the police brought him and his brother in again yesterday, because someone allegedly reported them for speeding, so much so that the tires on their car screeched.

They were brought to the police station in Vlasenica. Before that, they were beaten by special forces. The police continued beating them at the station as well.

Mehmed Kuljančić previously told Patria that he is sure that politics is behind everything.

- They are trying to provoke me into creating some incident, so that they could then say that Bosniak returnees are extremists and that this would be a reason for the local politics for new arrests – Kuljančić previously told the Patria agency.
