Excise duties on oil to be increased, BiH Parliament confirmation needed

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session supported the adoption of an increase in excise duties on oil, oil derivatives, and heating oil by 15 feninga per liter, and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Excise Law will soon be in the BiH Parliament, writes Patria News Agency.

If these laws are adopted by both houses of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it means that BiH has fulfilled all conditions to withdraw a new tranche from the IMF.

The Draft Law on Amendments to the Excise Law in BiH was supposed to be adopted earlier, by March 24. After the Draft of this law was not adopted within the foreseen deadline, the IMF postponed the deadline for adopting the draft to mid-April.

The Alliance for Change voted against this draft at today's session of the Council of Ministers.
