NEW ZEALAND, (Patria) - Australian extremist who identified himself as Brenton Tarrant on Twitter carried out an attack on worshippers in the Al Noor mosque in New Zealand, in which at least 40 people were killed and 20 injured. Tarrant was arrested along with two other men and one woman, with whom a certain amount of explosives was also found.
New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said the death toll in the attack on two mosques had risen to 49.
The majority of people, 41, were killed in the attack on the Al Noor mosque located on Deans Avenue, Bush stated.

World media reported that the terrorist had written the names of those who had fought against Muslims throughout history on his weapon.
Australian media also noticed the name of Miloš Obilić, a hero from Serbian poetry who participated in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, as well as some other names from Serbian history, such as Emperor Lazar, whom Obilić served, and who was killed in battles with the Ottomans.
The terrorist was also inspired by the names of Alexander Bissonnette and Luca Traini, mass murderers in Canada and Italy.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the details were not yet clear, but described the attack as a terrorist act. Authorities urged people in central Christchurch to stay in their homes, and the police warned worshippers not to go to mosques "across New Zealand".
