Indictment Confirmed Against Three Swedish Nationals for Murder and Attempted Murder of a Swede

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has confirmed the indictment of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office against El Oweiti Abdel Majid, Hedberg Oliver Peter, and Konrad Tylus for the criminal offenses of murder and attempted murder.

The accused are charged with killing one Swedish national and wounding another on October 31, 2023, at around 4:25 PM in the Sarajevo municipality of Ilidža. The accused had previously planned the murder by initially arriving from Turkey to Sarajevo, renting a car and an apartment in East Sarajevo, purchasing an electric bicycle, and obtaining an automatic weapon with a silencer. On the day of the murder, they drove by car to the Bulevar neighborhood in front of a building where H.L.O. was staying.

The accused Hedberg Oliver Peter parked the car and took an electric bicycle out of the trunk, onto which the accused El Oweiti Abdel Majid and Konrad Tylus sat, and then, masked with hoods, caps, and surgical masks, approached the entrance door of the business premises of a market in front of which H.L.O. and E.M. were standing.

The accused Konrad Tylus reduced the bicycle's speed from a distance of several meters, and El Oweiti Abdel Majid fired about 30 rounds from a firearm – an automatic weapon – at H.L.O. and E.M. Of the approximately 30 rounds, 26 hit H.L.O., who died from the injuries, while E.M. sustained minor bodily injuries to the abdomen.

Afterward, the accused fled to the territory of the Republika Srpska. Shortly thereafter, the accused El Oweiti Abdel Majid and Konrad Tylus were arrested by police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska in the municipality of Pale, while the accused Hedberg Oliver Peter was arrested in the municipality of Sokolac.

The prosecuting attorney proposed extending the detention of the accused in the indictment, while for the main trial, the court proposed hearing 20 witnesses, six expert witnesses, and presenting about 200 pieces of material evidence.
