INDICTMENT CONFIRMED: Bunić Paid for Media Promotion with Funds from the Social Work Center

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton has filed, and the Municipal Court in Bosanska Krupa has confirmed, an indictment against the former mayor of Bužim Municipality, Agan Bunić, and Emir Aldžić, director of the Public Institution Center for Social Work Bužim.

The indictment charges them with committing two criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority as co-perpetrators.

It is reasonably suspected that in September 2015, after Bunić arranged and conducted an interview with journalist H. R., the accused paid for the publication of this interview in BH Business Magazine, in the section "Municipal Mayor - Manager," in issue no. 175, in the amount of 3,000 (3,510 KM with VAT), using funds from the Center for Social Work Bužim.

In this way, they obtained a benefit for Agan Bunić in the form of media exposure in BH Business Magazine, and caused damage to the Public Institution Center for Social Work Bužim in the amount of 3,510 KM.

It is also reasonably suspected that in November 2015, after Bunić had previously arranged with Š. P. the purchase of 100 copies of the magazine Euro Manager and 20 books titled "Business Champions 2015," in which Agan Bunić was presented as "Mayor of the Year 2015," for the price of 2,600 KM (3,042 KM with VAT), the accused agreed to pay the said amount from the funds of the Center for Social Work Bužim.

Thus, they obtained a benefit for Agan Bunić in the form of his personal promotion, and caused damage to the budget of the Public Institution Center for Social Work Bužim in the form of an obligation to pay for the said service in the amount of 3,042 KM.

During the investigation, the Prosecutor's Office heard witnesses and collected more material evidence that confirmed the validity of the indictment.

In the coming period, a plea hearing is expected to be scheduled at the Municipal Court in Bosanska Krupa, announced the Prosecutor's Office of Una-Sana Canton.
