Agreement signed on allocating funds to Sarajevo Canton from the FBiH Budget

(Patria) - An agreement on allocating funds to Sarajevo Canton from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Budget for this year was signed this morning at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo. It concerns the allocation of financial assistance from the FBiH Government to the canton for the implementation of structural reforms and financing/co-financing of infrastructure projects of significance to the Federation of BiH, in a 50 percent to 50 percent ratio.

The agreement was signed in accordance with the Decision of the Federal Government on the distribution of funds to cantons in the amount of 200,000,000 KM, of which Sarajevo Canton is allocated 36,178,423 KM.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Sarajevo Canton by the canton's Prime Minister Edin Forto and, on behalf of the Government of the Federation of BiH, by the Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Finance Jelka Milićević, in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić.

Namely, the Decision of the Federal Government on the distribution of funds, Current transfers to other levels of government and funds - cantons, was made on May 26, and agreements on the allocation of funds with other cantons were signed on June 10, 2022, with only Sarajevo Canton failing to respond to the signing. At the beginning of this week, the Federal Government paid funds to the cantons from the Federation of BiH Budget for 2022.

According to the Federal Minister of Finance, an order for the payment of funds to Sarajevo Canton from the Federation of BiH Budget for 2022 will be sent soon, as the conditions for this have been met after today's signing of the agreement. The signing of the agreement was also attended by the Minister of Finance of Sarajevo Canton Davor Čičić.
