Employers of FBiH call on MPs to vote for abolition of excise duties on oil and oil derivatives

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Employers' Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on the MPs of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the proposal of the SDP BiH MPs' Club and pass the Bill amending the Law on Excise Duties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which provides for the abolition of excise duties on oil derivatives.

"The Employers' Association of FBiH warns that due to disruptions in the oil supply on the world market, there has been a significant increase in the prices of oil derivatives, and that such a trend will continue in the coming period according to all indicators. The constant rise in the prices of oil and oil derivatives is already leading to an increase in the prices of all other products and services, which significantly burdens the standard of living of citizens. The abolition of excise duties on oil and oil derivatives in BiH would lead to a reduction in fuel prices, which would significantly help citizens, as well as the economy, to overcome the current crisis.

The Employers' Association of FBiH advocates for any abuse of the abolition of excise duties on oil derivatives by business entities to be sanctioned in accordance with positive legal regulations.

Due to all of the above, we call on the MPs of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament to adopt the proposed amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in BiH and thus show in practice that they are working in the interest of citizens and the economy, and not for individuals and interest groups," stated the Employers' Association.
