Oscar Winner Gene Hackman (93) Seen in Public After a Long Time; Last Film Shot in 2004

(Patria) - He was one of Hollywood's favorite actors, always playing character roles, but we haven't seen Gene Hackman in public for a long time.

Paparazzi also took advantage of his outing for lunch at a fast-food restaurant and immediately photographed him.

The British Daily Mail published photos and videos taken in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where the legendary Hackman has been living a reclusive and quiet life in recent years.

He is 93 years old today, but he is still in good shape, as can be seen from the footage.

Paparazzi filmed him enjoying fast food, and then 'escorted' him to a gas station, where he refueled his car and headed home.

Hackman, who during his life was awarded as many as two Oscars for his masterful acting - for the role of New York detective Jimmy Popeye Doyle in "The French Connection" and for Sheriff Bill Daggett in "Unforgiven" - had his last role almost 20 years ago.

In 2004, he filmed the comedy 'Mayor's Race' with Ray Romano, Mauro Tierney, and Christine Baranski, and gave his last interview to Larry King that same year.

He then said that he had no plans for any new film projects and that he thought his acting career had come to an end.

He confirmed his retirement in 2008 while promoting his third novel, "Escape From Andersonville," reports tportal.hr.

When asked by GQ magazine in 2011 if he ever considered making another film, Hackman replied: "If I could film it in my house, without anyone bothering me, and there were only one or two people there..."

However, he did not leave the film industry immediately. He lent his voice to two documentaries about Marines - "The Unknown Flag Raiser of Iwo Jima" (2016) and "We, The Marines" (2017).

Gene Hackman began his acting career almost 70 years ago, in 1956, when he joined the Pasadena Playhouse, where he befriended Dustin Hoffman, and during his life, he played more than 100 different roles.
