MPs to discuss salary cuts today

MPs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, at today's session, should among other things consider various initiatives on reducing the salaries of high-ranking officials in BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Among others, there is the request of MPs Niko Lozančić, Milorad Živković, and the SDA Caucus...

As confirmed by Drago Kalabić, no conclusion was reached at the Collegium to postpone the vote on these initiatives and proposals today, even though the Council of Ministers of BiH made a decision to consolidate these initiatives within 45 days.

- We have previously voted for the proposal on salary cuts, with the caveat that we will see if a vote will even take place. I think it is possible that we will actually get this job done in this mandate - Kalabić said.

Currently, the proposal by Niko Lozančić for the consideration of the framework law on limitations in the disposal of public funds in BiH is being discussed.

Šefik Džaferović, in a statement to journalists, said that SDA will not support postponing the vote because they believe it is unnecessary to wait for the Council of Ministers.

- SDA will support the proposals of Niko Lozančić and Milorad Živković, even if our amendments do not pass - Džaferović said.

In addition to this, MPs will consider the Bill on Amendments to the Border Control Law and the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH.

Also on the agenda is the request of the House of Peoples for the urgent consideration of the Bill on Amendments to the Election Law of BiH. This proposal passed in the House of Peoples and concerns the city of Mostar, but this proposal will not pass in the House of Representatives, given that both SDA and SDP delegates were against it in the House of Peoples, so there will be no entity majority, reports the reporter of the BiH news agency Patria.
