A business delegation from Izmir, led by the Honorary Consul General of BiH in Turkey Ahmet Kemal Baysak, discussed with the management of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) about the possibilities of realizing projects in livestock farming and ornamental plant cultivation in BiH. These are businessmen who operate successfully in Turkey, as well as in the markets of the Russian Federation, reports the Patria News Agency.
FIPA Deputy Director Blaženka Mišković thanked the Turkish businessmen for their visit and briefly presented basic information about the Agency's work, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina expects a larger inflow of investments from Turkey, given the good existing political, cultural, and other relations between the two countries.
Businessmen were informed about the legal framework concerning foreign investors in BiH, the way they can establish a company or branch, investment conditions, certain reforms that have contributed to facilitating the start of economic activity, and privileges and incentives in the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska.
Information was provided about locations that are favorable for engaging in the aforementioned activities. FIPA will be in constant contact with these businessmen and will provide all necessary assistance to ensure the realization of the investment.
Honorary Consul Baysak informed the FIPA management that he has daily contact with Turkish businessmen who are interested in visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet with representatives of institutions with whom they would discuss investment opportunities, as evidenced by today's visit, as well as previous visits he organized.
He spoke about the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) project, which he realized with several friends from Turkey and BiH and in which 35 million euros have been invested so far. The project began in 2004, is not yet completed, and he believes the costs will amount to 60 million euros. IUS currently employs 300 people. This project has the character of a waqf, which has also contributed to economic development, according to the FIPA press release.
