MESSAGE FROM THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT Karas: All possible sanctions against Russia are being considered

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - First Vice-President of the European Parliament Othmar Karas says that all possible sanctions against Moscow are on the table, including the "Nord Stream 2" gas pipeline, claiming that Russia is trying to destabilize Europe not only in Ukraine, but also in Serbia, Hungary and Poland.

- No sanction has been left out - he told the Austrian public broadcaster ORF, adding that Europe must not just watch Russia's threats.

Karas claims that Russia is an aggressor that violates law and agreements.

- If there is an invasion of Ukraine, further sanctions must follow - he stated.

The Austrian politician emphasized that Europe will always seek dialogue and will never act militarily in the sense of "an eye for an eye - a tooth for a tooth", but will remain on the foundations of law and values, emphasizing that the EU is "weak" militarily.

He expressed hope that the agreements in the area of the EU's common security and foreign policy will be amended, otherwise the Union would be incredible. Karas called for the EU to be included in the ongoing negotiations with Russia.

- Russia does not allow Europe to sit at the table - he claims, pointing out that the goal must be to prevent the "aggressor" Russia from continuing its policy of destabilizing Europe.
