(Patria) - Family and friends of Faris Pendek and other citizens gathered tonight at the playground of the "Osman Nakaš" Elementary School on the first anniversary of the brutal murder of this 19-year-old, reports Faktor.ba.
Alma Karadžić, a friend of Faris's mother, spoke about the consequences left on the family and friends.
- Adem Šuman did not kill only Faris, he killed all of us. He crippled us all. The only thing I want is to appeal to the police and the judiciary to punish such crimes as they deserve. So that they do not pick up weapons again and an innocent child does not suffer - she said.
The mother of the murdered Faris Pendek also addressed those present.
- Thank you to all the people who came tonight to attend. This is a small sign of attention and a warning that something like this does not happen again. That something be done, that this state takes action. Our youth are dying, they are being killed at every step. My Faris was not the last child - the mother said.
She emphasized that she hopes Adem Šuman will receive the maximum sentence.
- I attend the trial regularly and I cannot stand hearing all this nonsense. No one has the right to take someone's life. He, a madman, an alcoholic, a drug addict, I have no words. A person doesn't know what to call him.
He is a soulless face in the courtroom. I want to remember my Faris. He was a beautiful and smiling child. Our Faris was a two-meter tall child, he couldn't fit through the door. An uncorrupted child - she concluded.
Those gathered marked the first anniversary with a commemorative walk from the "Osman Nakaš" Elementary School to the bridge in Otoka, specifically the murder site.

Earlier, friends of the murdered Faris called on citizens via social media to come in as large numbers as possible.
In memory of the murdered Faris Pendek, a mural with his likeness was unveiled on a building in the Čengić Vila neighborhood in Sarajevo, where he lived, in the middle of last year, with the inscription "Penda," as his nickname was.
Pendek was killed on January 28 last year, and Adem Šuman is suspected of his murder. Šuman denied guilt for murder with reckless violent behavior before the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo.
The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office against Šuman on October 18 last year. The confirmed indictment charges Šuman with, on January 28 last year at approximately 11:30 PM, at a busy intersection in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Otoka, without a driver's license and without any motive or reason, blocking the path of four friends who were in a Citroen with his Peugeot car.
"The accused opened the window and addressed them with the words: 'What are you looking at, stop here,'" the indictment states.
Šuman approached their car and, intending to confront them, without leaving his car, moved to the passenger seat and through the open window punched two of them with his fist, then took a pistol from the glove compartment and hit them again with the pistol grip.
After that, through the open window, he fired one bullet that hit Faris Pendek in the chest and killed him.
After the murder, Šuman fled and met with the accused Elmedin Gradišić and Mersim Saljević, who helped him hide evidence and cover up traces.
