Džena Gadžun's family seeks justice, Ministry of Health claims - 'we did everything', the rest is up to the Prosecutor's Office

(Patria) - The family of the deceased Džena Gadžun is today in Sarajevo in front of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, seeking information on when the circumstances of their child's death will finally be determined. After that, as they announced, they will head to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office.

Regarding the tragic death of the girl Džena Gadžun from Kakanj, as well as the protest gathering this morning in front of the building of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton has issued a statement.

“The Minister of Health of the Sarajevo Canton, Haris Vranić, as well as the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton, have done everything within their scope of work, i.e., all collected documentation regarding this case has been submitted to the competent Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton for further action. This ends the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton regarding taking legal steps in connection with the tragic event of the deceased girl Džena Gadžun. The Ministry of Health is neither a repressive nor a legislative body.

We hope that the judicial authorities will establish all relevant facts and that the case will be resolved as soon as possible within the framework of the law.

We call on the Prosecutor's Office to promptly, thoroughly, professionally, and impartially determine what exactly happened in this case and take appropriate legal measures.

Minister Vranić invites the parents for a conversation in the Ministry's premises, whose doors have been and remain open, at a time convenient for them,” the statement from the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton reads.
