Tax Administration: FBiH Government has not been paying contributions for 47 KTK Visoko employees since July 22

The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH issued a public statement regarding the hunger strike of 47 employees of KTK Visoko d.d. Visoko, who have met the conditions for retirement, reports the Patria news agency.  

- We are sorry and sympathize with the employees who are trying to exercise their rights through a hunger strike. However, the Tax Administration of F BiH has not contributed in any way to the situation they are in, nor has it caused their problems, as stated in some media.

Funds for taxes and contributions are not paid into the accounts of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH, so the Administration cannot hold funds in its account, as stated. Contributions are paid directly into the accounts of extra-budgetary funds, in accordance with legal regulations.

In 2015, the Privatization Agency paid contributions for pension and disability insurance to the account of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Institute from the funds from the sale of KTK Visoko d.d. Visoko real estate, in the amount of 1,605,453.91 KM, and contributions for health insurance to the accounts of health insurance institutes in the amount of 801,501.65 KM, all for the tax period 1997-1999.

On July 22, 2016, the Government of the Federation of BiH passed a Decision on the allocation of funds from the KTK Visoko d.d. Visoko account for the purpose of linking service for 47 employees who have met the conditions for retirement. After this decision, there were no new payments of contributions.

If the funds for contributions for pension and disability insurance, contributions for health insurance, and contributions for unemployment insurance are paid for these 47 employees, the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH will, within the shortest possible time - immediately - fulfill its obligations within its jurisdiction, so that the employees can exercise their rights, the statement reads.  

The Government of the Federation of BiH at today's session considered the implementation of acts from previous sessions related to the payment of approximately 233,000 KM for taxes and contributions for pension and disability insurance for 43 KTK Visoko employees.

The Federal Government today tasked the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, the Privatization Agency in FBiH, the Tax Administration of FBiH, and the Development Bank of FBiH to prepare a proposal for a decision by 9:00 AM tomorrow in order to find a solution to the problems in KTK Visoko, so that the Government can adopt it at tomorrow's telephone session.
