FBiH Tax Administration sealed 72 facilities, found 42 undeclared workers

The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH conducted a total of 200 inspections on Thursday, 11 May 2016, across the territory of the Federation of BiH. The inspections covered taxpayers engaged in hospitality, construction, trade, bakery and other service activities. During the inspections, inspectors of the FBiH Tax Administration discovered 42 undeclared workers and 49 facilities where business was conducted without the approval of the competent authority, the FBiH Tax Administration announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Due to the identified irregularities: employment of undeclared workers, work without the approval of competent authorities, and failure to record turnover via fiscal devices, 72 facilities were sealed and 134 misdemeanor warrants were issued with fines totaling 238,750.00 KM.

The Administration hereby extends special thanks to the members of the Ministry of Interior of the Stari Grad Sarajevo Police Department for their support and assistance during the inspection.

The FBiH Tax Administration will continue its activities in controlling and preventing the grey economy and calls on taxpayers to comply with the law in order to avoid sanctions and additional costs. Special attention will be paid to taxpayers engaged in craft and related activities who pay income tax on a lump-sum basis, due to reasonable suspicion that a significant number of taxpayers are abusing this legal option and thereby avoiding the payment of taxes and contributions.

The Tax Administration asks taxpayers not to obstruct in any way the official persons of the Administration in performing their duties. Obstructing inspectors from performing their duties constitutes a criminal offense punishable by up to 3 years in prison. The Tax Administration is determined to carry out activities within its competence and will impose maximum sanctions on persons who oppose this. The Tax Administration wants to be a partner to taxpayers and build transparent relationships based on applicable laws.
