SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In continuation of the control of the legality of taxpayers' operations, which began on July 8, 2019, inspectors of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH carried out 91 inspections on July 10 in the municipalities of Ilidža, Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Centar, Stari Grad, Čitluk, and Neum. The inspections covered taxpayers engaged in: hospitality, trade, bakery, and other service activities.
In these activities, inspectors of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH discovered 26 undeclared workers, 16 taxpayers who failed to record turnover, 12 facilities operating without the approval of the competent authority, and one taxpayer who did not have a fiscal device installed, announced the Tax Administration of FBiH.
Due to the identified irregularities: employment of undeclared workers, operation without the approval of competent authorities, absence of a fiscal device, and failure to record turnover through a fiscal device, 14 facilities were sealed, and in 47 cases, misdemeanor orders were issued with a total of 86,700.00 KM in fines.
In addition to these direct results, the initiated rapid controls, which will continue over the weekend and during the next week in a wider area of FBiH, have led taxpayers themselves to register workers before the arrival of tax inspectors.
As a result of the above, and according to the official records of the Tax Administration of FBiH, the number of employed persons increased in the period from July 3 to July 12, 2019. For example, in the municipalities of Centar Sarajevo, the number of employed persons increased by 39 employees, Hadžići by 17, Novi Grad by 22 employees, and Stari Grad by 2 employees.
The Tax Administration thanks all taxpayers who duly fulfill their tax obligations and invites all taxpayers to fulfill their obligations promptly, to voluntarily report and pay, to report every worker, and to operate in accordance with tax and other valid regulations, as this is the best and safest way to do business.
Use your money to improve your business, for investments, development, for paying employee salaries, and not to spend hard-earned money on paying fines and interest.
The Tax Administration will continue to carry out activities to control the legality of taxpayers' operations and prevent the grey economy, and invites taxpayers with identified irregularities to align their operations and respect the laws.
If irregularities are found again in future controls of these taxpayers, they will be subject to a protective measure of prohibition of business activities for a period of 6 months.
The Tax Administration will assist taxpayers who demonstrate a willingness to fulfill their tax obligations in every way and will show determination to take all measures against those who wish to avoid their obligations, thereby directing them towards legal conduct. The Tax Administration wishes to be a partner to taxpayers and build transparent relationships based on valid laws.
The Tax Administration invites all workers working illegally to report this to the Tax Administration. Only in this way will you be able to realize your legally guaranteed rights: the right to healthcare, the right to pension and disability insurance, and other rights that belong to you based on employment.
Dear workers, especially young people, this is your homeland, and you should stay in it and be happy, not disenfranchised, humiliated, and exploited.
The Tax Administration invites all citizens to report their knowledge of illegal operations, i.e., non-compliance with tax laws, to the Tax Administration. With your reports, you are on the path of good, justice, truth, and helping your homeland, and these are the highest universal values – be part of universal values and report to the Tax Administration all those who operate illegally. Your response is not "snitching." Those who call it "snitching" do not wish well to you, your neighbors, and our homeland, and they condone the illegal enrichment of individuals. Do not allow your rights and happiness to be diminished by those who do not report you and do not pay taxes and contributions, thus deceiving both you and the state, while simultaneously increasing their wealth, the Tax Administration stated.
Taxes and contributions are also your money. Take a step and help yourself. In this way, you give others the opportunity to help you.
"The Tax Administration invites all accountants and auditors to report all illegal actions related to the avoidance or non-payment of public revenues by taxpayers for whom they perform activities. It is your duty and responsibility to act in the public interest and in accordance with the rules of the profession, to protect yourself and the profession you practice. Be an ally of the Tax Administration in the fight against illegal business operations," say the Tax Administration.
The Tax Administration emphasizes that countries without a regulated tax system are at a very low level of development, are unstable, have pronounced corruption, endangered rights, and by all criteria occupy unfavorable positions in the rankings of developed countries.
"Let's create synergy and let's all take a step to make our homeland occupy a better place in the rankings of developed countries. The Tax Administration is ready and determined, are you?" the Tax Administration states.
