Pomozi.ba: Major campaign to provide medical assistance and distribute humanitarian aid packages for refugees

Thanks to joint goodwill and humanity, on Saturday, 17 October 2015, WAHA International from Paris and Pomozi.ba from Sarajevo are organising a campaign to provide medical assistance and distribute humanitarian aid packages, in cooperation with the Bima Medical Association from Sarajevo, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation from Belgrade and the Save the Babies association from Belgrade, reports the Patria news agency.

That day, these organisations will be present at six points / border crossings (Šid, Preševo, Opatovac, Dimitrovgrad, Beremendi and Tabanovce) where they will provide assistance to refugees from Middle Eastern countries, in the form of medical examinations, distribution of food, water and hygiene items, and organising activities for children.

On that occasion, 2,000 basic hygiene packages, nappies, 1,570 raincoats, 2,000 packages of biscuits, 2,000 protein chocolate bars, 12,000 juices and water will be distributed, which the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation provided thanks to a donation from the CRS organisation.

- Due to the specific nature of the situation, we believe that medical assistance in such conditions is of utmost importance. This is an extremely demanding project that needed to be coordinated down to the smallest detail so that everything functions according to plan on the ground - state from Pomozi.ba.

The meeting point is the Park located immediately next to the Bus Station, opposite the public garage at 5 o'clock in the morning, on Saturday, 17 October, from where, after a short briefing, the teams will depart for the locations.

All teams will meet again in Belgrade in the late evening hours, where they will exchange experiences and summarise the results. The campaign involves five organisations and more than 50 people, including 20 medical workers.
