(Patria) - The Polish leadership announced yesterday that it knew in advance about the American and Israeli attacks on Iran, unlike France, which stated that it was neither informed nor participated in the operation.
Germany also confirmed it was informed in advance, writes Politico.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski told TVN24 that his country had knowledge of the attacks.
"The word 'consulted' would be too strong, but we had certain information in advance, the details of which I cannot disclose," Sikorski said.
Earlier, President Karol Nawrocki wrote on social media X: "Thanks to existing allied and coalition channels, we were aware of the military actions taken by Israel and the US".
On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that Paris was not privy to the plans. He said that the US and Israel did not "inform or involve" France in the attacks.
While most European governments called for restraint and de-escalation on Saturday, Sikorski took a decidedly critical stance towards Tehran.
He described Iran as "a country that has supported terrorism for decades and organized terrorist attacks in Europe and on other continents, including against American targets".
He called the Iranian regime an "ideologized force" and "the last utopia of the 20th century".
"We had Nazism, we had communism, and now we have Iranian religious fundamentalism," Sikorski concluded.
