Polyclinic Dr Bandić first and only in FBiH to start dental accreditation process

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Polyclinic Dental Ortodont Centar Dr Bandić from Sarajevo is the first and only polyclinic in the Federation of BiH to start the accreditation process according to the new Safety and Quality Standards for dental activities.

The Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Healthcare in the Federation of BiH (AKAZ) is implementing a process of including all healthcare institutions performing healthcare activities into the healthcare services safety system with the aim of patient protection.

"Patient first and quality first - these are the foundations on which our polyclinic's work has been based from its establishment to this day. Given that we have invested maximally in the most modern equipment year after year and assembled the most professional staff, activities towards dental accreditation were a logical consequence for our institution. We, as a leading polyclinic, are expected to set standards for the profession. We remind you that our patients can receive all dental health services in one place, without the need to go anywhere else, and our team of professional staff consists of more than 20 people," stated Polyclinic Dental Ortodont Centar Dr Bandić.

In the coming period, AKAZ also plans specialized training on establishing a safety and quality system according to these standards, intended exclusively for the staff of dental practices.

"Following the internal preparation of Polyclinic Ortodont Centar Dr Bandić, an external evaluation of the Polyclinic will follow for the issuance of a certificate of compliance with safety and quality standards (accreditation), in the sense of Article 55 of the Law on Healthcare Protection, according to which AKAZ continuously monitors and assesses safety standards in healthcare institutions and issues a certificate for verification of compliance with safety standards, while accreditation as an additional level of quality is defined according to Article 22, Paragraph 1, Point 4 of the Law on the System of Improving Quality, Safety, and Accreditation in Healthcare as a special activity of the Agency which involves conducting the accreditation process of healthcare institutions in accordance with this law, as well as regulations enacted based on this law, and in that regard, granting, revoking, or renewing accreditation for healthcare institutions in the Federation of BiH," it was announced from AKAZ.
