Police agencies will do everything to ensure elections are held in a safe environment

The Operational Staff for the Security of the General Elections 2014 in BiH, headed by the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, is fully prepared to ensure the smooth running of all electoral activities.

Mirsad Vilić, director of the Directorate for the BiH News Agency Patria, says they have enough personnel to ensure the elections are held in a safe environment.

- This is the first time the Directorate is heading the Operational Staff for the elections, and it is the first time that all police agencies are involved in securing the electoral process in this way - Vilić added.

The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH formed the Operational Staff for the Security of the General Elections 2014 in BiH on September 5 this year. Representatives of OSA, the Border Police of BiH, SIPA, the Federal Police Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and the Brčko District Police are participating in the Operational Staff.

Police agencies will secure the BiH Central Election Commission headquarters, the Counting Center, the election material warehouse, and the transport of election material today. All these activities, as Vilić told us, will be carried out by the Operational Staff until the end of the election process.

Since this morning, members of the Federal Police Administration have been securing the Counting Center located in Zetra.
