Police operation in Vitez: B.N. arrested, drugs and weapons found

On 24.11.2015, around 5:15 PM, PS Vitez received a report that a physical altercation between several individuals occurred in the village of Nadioci, municipality of Vitez, followed by the use of firearms. Patrols were dispatched to the scene, which determined that no one was injured as a result of the firearm discharge, and that the weapon was used by individual B.N., born in 1984, from Vitez. The wider area of the city was immediately blocked off, and the support unit was included in the blockade and search for the suspect, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Around 6:30 PM, the suspect was found and apprehended, and criminal proceedings were carried out against him with the aim of finding the weapon from which shots were fired and documenting his connection to the criminal offense. The suspect was processed by officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton/Kanton Sarajevo Travnik, and this included a search of the apartment and other premises used by the suspect, with a prior warrant from the Municipal Court of Travnik.

- During the search, in the attic of the residential building where the suspect resides, 3 larger packages of a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana, totaling about 0.5 kilograms, and 19 smaller packages of a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug cocaine were found. In the continuation of the investigation, the suspect showed police officers the location where he had hidden the weapon from which he fired. Upon completion of the criminal proceedings, the suspect will be handed over to the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Travnik for further action, along with a report on the committed criminal offenses. The suspect is charged with the criminal offenses of "Illegal possession of weapons or explosives," "Causing general danger," and the criminal offense of "Production and trafficking of narcotic drugs" - it was announced from the Office of the Police Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton.

We remind that the suspect was apprehended last year as part of a very successful operational action called "Security," which was aimed at preventing and detecting criminal offenses of drug abuse. At that time, about 2 kilograms of marijuana were found with him, and in addition to the aforementioned criminal offense, he had also been convicted for other criminal offenses related to illegal possession of weapons and causing general danger.
