Police told that son was abusing mother, when they arrived the elderly woman was already dead

The Operational-Communications Center of the Međimurje Police Department received a report from citizens this morning that in Nedelišće, at Matije Gupca Street 5, a son was abusing his mother, reports the Patria news agency.

When they arrived at the reported location, police officers found the dead body of a 78-year-old woman in the house. As reported by evarazdin, the murder was committed with a knife, and the 57-year-old son was arrested on suspicion of the criminal offense of murder. 

As stated by the spokesperson of the Međimurje Police Department, Radovan Gačal, upon arriving at the scene, police officers found the dead body of 78-year-old R.M. in the family home.

Gačal confirmed that the police arrested her 57-year-old son M.M. for committing the criminal offense of murder. Unofficially, the son killed his own mother with a knife, and the incident was reported to the police by the grandson.

An investigation is underway conducted by the deputy county state attorney from Varaždin, and an autopsy of the unfortunate woman's body has been ordered to shed light on this horrific crime. The police had not previously received any reports of violence in this family.
