As part of the preventive campaign called "Stop Alcohol on Wheels", members of the Police Station for Traffic Safety Bosanska Gradiška checked 52 drivers, and five drivers were arrested because they had more than one permille of alcohol in their blood, reports the Patria News Agency.
"For 11 drivers, a higher concentration of alcohol in the blood than allowed was determined, and they were removed from traffic. Due to more than one permille of alcohol in their blood, five drivers were deprived of their liberty," it was announced from the Police Station for Traffic Safety Gradiška.
The preventive campaign is being conducted by the Automobile-Moto Association of Republika Srpska, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Traffic Safety Agency of Republika Srpska, other republican institutions, and local communities.
The goal of the campaign, which lasts until January 15, is to increase the level of traffic safety in RS by reducing the number of drivers participating in traffic under the influence of alcohol.
