Police arrest man who hit a child with his car yesterday and fled

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In a traffic accident that occurred yesterday in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Buća Potok, a pedestrian, specifically a child born in 2011, was knocked down, and the driver of a Volkswagen Golf II then fled the scene.

The accident happened on Adema Buće Street, and the driver did not even stop after hitting the child M.A. (2011), but fled.

- On the same day at 6:10 PM, police officers of the Uniformed Police Sector - Traffic Investigation Department found the vehicle and the driver S. S., born in 1995 from Sarajevo, who was deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of failing to provide assistance to an injured person in a traffic accident - said the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton.

The injured pedestrian was transported to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo where he received medical assistance and was kept under observation.
